Objectives of Software Tester Role
- Conduct comprehensive software testing, including test case development, execution of exploratory, functional, and regression testing.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure software functions correctly across various platforms, operating systems, browsers, and devices.
- Test for security vulnerabilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and providing feedback to enhance product solutions.
- Communicate testing results and findings to developers and stakeholders, providing recommendations for improvements and fixes.
Software Tester Tasks and Responsibilities
- Work closely with developers, business analysts, and support teams to meet user expectations and ensure smooth software performance.
- Design and develop test cases based on customer requirements and technical specifications.
- Identify root causes of defects and bugs, providing analysis and strategies to mitigate risks.
- Perform exploratory and usability testing to identify bugs before release into production.

Required Skills and Qualifications
Freshers
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Basic understanding of software testing methodologies and design.
- Familiarity with testing techniques and compatibility testing across multiple platforms.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python (even at a beginner level).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strong ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
Experienced Candidates
- Proven knowledge of software testing processes and methodologies.
- Practical experience in test case development, execution, and defect management.
- Expertise in functional, regression, and exploratory testing.
- Strong familiarity with coding languages and test automation tools.
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with teams.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex software defects.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Familiarity with manual and automated testing tools, including Selenium, Appium, or Robot Framework.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes.
- Experience using bug tracking systems and test management tools.
